Oak Island Market Place Development Complete With Opening of Publix

Retail property

Halpern Enterprises announces the opening of a 28,800-square-foot Publix at its Oak Island Market Place retail center at 5001 E Oak Island Drive in Oak Island, North Carolina. Halpern developed the 35,800-square-foot property, which includes 7,000 square feet of available shop space.

“Located on the island’s main thoroughfare, three blocks from the beach, Publix is ideally situated to provide the high-quality goods and services it’s known for with exceptional convenience,” said Halpern President Bill Brown.

Publix at Oak Island Market Place is one of only two national grocers on the island. The shopping center features a signalized entrance with three points of ingress and egress. The property has up to 7,000 square feet of ground level retail and restaurant space available for lease.

Situated 30 miles south of Wilmington and 60 miles north of Myrtle Beach, Oak Island boasts 10 miles of south-facing beaches, featuring 60 public access points, two fishing piers and a marina. An estimated 500,000 travelers visit the island annually.

Oak Island Market Place is the ninth shopping center Halpern has developed or redeveloped with a Publix anchor and the fourth in North Carolina. Leesville Market Place in Raleigh and Ocean Isle Beach Market Place in Ocean Isle Beach opened in 2018, and Ogden Market Place in Wilmington opened in 2017.
