Matthew Oppenheimer Named Treasurer/Secretary of New Chamblee Doraville CID

Halpern’s Director of Acquisitions, Matthew Oppenheimer, has been named Treasurer/Secretary of the Chamblee Doraville Community Improvement District (CID). The newly formed CID was approved by the cities of Chamblee and Doraville and DeKalb County in May 2019.

“CID’s have proven to be powerful economic development tools throughout Metro Atlanta,” said Oppenheimer. “Given our 50 plus year history in the community and desire to remain in Doraville long term, this CID is the perfect way for us to help shape a positive future for the area that benefits both businesses and residents alike.”

The preliminary CID boundaries are I-285 to the north, Buford Hwy to the east, Chamblee Tucker Road to the south and Peachtree Boulevard to the west.

Representing $1.5B in real estate value, the CID includes Chamblee and Doraville MARTA stations and Peachtree DeKalb Airport.

In March 2018, commercial property owners in Chamblee and Doraville began officially meeting to form the CID.

“The stakeholders who spearheaded this endeavor all share the common goal of making Chamblee and Doraville great places to live, work and play,” said Oppenheimer.

The CID board members include

Jimmy Ellis – Chairman (Chairman of Jim Ellis Automotive)
