Halpern Enterprises today announces German-owned grocery chain ALDI and Wisconsin-based Culver’s restaurant are under development at Phenix City Marketplace in Phenix City, Ala. Located on US-280, four miles from downtown Columbus, Ga., the 18-acre site sits adjacent to Chick-fil-A, Verizon, McDonald’s, Precision Auto Tune and Waffle House.
“Motivated by Phenix City’s strong economic climate, we’re excited to bring a second retail development to the community” said Halpern’s Marc Kirchhoff, vice president, build-to-suit. “We expect ALDI and Culver’s to successfully fill a demand in the market for a grocery store and family friendly restaurant.”
Developed by Halpern’s build-to-suit team, Phenix City Marketplace is situated across from Walmart Supercenter and next to Encompass Health’s Regional Rehabilitation Hospital. The prime location along US-280’s high traffic corridor has up to ±4.00 acres remaining for development.
“Our community is thrilled with this development,” said Shaun Culligan, City of Phenix City’s economic development manager. “We feel confident that Phenix City Marketplace will surpass all of our expectations.”
Phenix City Marketplace represents Halpern’s second development in area. Halpern completed Phenix City Station in 2018. The three-tenant property is occupied by Aspen Dental, T-Mobile and forthcoming Moe’s Southwest Grill.
