ALDI and Culver’s have broken ground at Halpern’s 18-acre Phenix City Marketplace development. The site is located on US-280, four miles from downtown Columbus, Ga.

This is Culver’s first location in the area and ALDI’s second. Both businesses are expected to open in the fall.

“We’re thrilled with the rapid progression of this development, strong tenant demand and the tremendous support we’ve received from the city,” said Marc Kirchhoff, vice president, build-to-suit. “This is a prime location with room for additional businesses on the remaining four acres that are available.”

Developed by Halpern’s build-to-suit team, Phenix City Marketplace is adjacent to Chick-fil-A, Verizon, McDonald’s, Precision Auto Tune and Waffle House. The property sits across US-280 from Walmart Supercenter and next to Encompass Health’s Regional Rehabilitation Hospital.

This is Halpern’s second development in the Columbus-Phenix City region. The company completed Phenix City Station, occupied by Aspen Dental, T-Mobile and Moe’s Southwest Grill, in 2018.
