Atlanta Magazine Names Jack Halpern Among Most Influential Atlantans

Jack Halpern has been recognized as one of the city’s most influential leaders by Atlanta magazine, in its first annual The Atlanta 500 publication, which debuted this month. The prestigious list includes Delta CEO Ed Bastian, Hank Aaron, Arthur Blank, Bernie Marcus, Ted Turner and Sara Blakely, among other Atlanta icons.

Employed at Halpern Enterprises since 1978, Jack now serves as chairman alongside his sister, Carolyn Halpern Oppenheimer, as executive vice president. Under their guidance, the company has grown from five employees to 34 and has expanded to 52 properties, totaling more than 3.6 million square feet in five states.

The Atlanta 500 includes professionals in eight categories: Business; Professionals; Real Estate; Government & Infrastructure; Arts, Sports & Entertainment; Education & Healthcare; Restaurants & Hospitality; and Religion, Nonprofits & Advocacy. Leaders were chosen through nominations as well as through consultation with experts across business fields.
